07/31 Get Motivated To Lose Weight Today

One mantra that I have and believe in but more difficult to follow through is to get motivated to lose weight today. It seems like I would tell myself this almost every day but when faced with choices of appetizing and very rich food, I have this tendency to forget my mantra. Sometimes, I also feel too tired and I seem to be very sluggish and lethargic. Thus I have to constantly remind myself of my goal to lose weight be sure not to make excuses.

07/31 Geology of a diamond

Did anyone see the movie Blood Diamond? I was shaken for a variety of reasons, one being the whole industry of diamonds and how they hide them in vaults to keep the prices high, while paying the workers a pittance and involved in terrorizing them., almost enslaving them. You can go to www.livingfactonline.com and find out about diamonds - jewelry and how they are made, prices of loose diamonds, the industry, notes on the symbolism of a diamond. My grandson is a geologist to be and he would love to find out the geographical characteristics of a diamond. Have fun!

07/31 Winter Ride

My youngest daughter is my horse nut.  She rides every chance she gets.  Well it was about a week before Christmas, the weather was lovely, and she was going for a ride.  It had snowed about three days earlier and then the sun came out and cleared the trails.  She put her trail saddle on Lucy and rode for four hours.  The afternoon sun made the fresh snow glimmer as if someone had sprinkled glitter all over it.  When I picked her up she told me that no one could have given her a better Christmas gift than to ride for that long ride during the winter right.

07/31 Great shopping trip

I normally don’t find too many good deals when I go shopping. I guess I don’t always know where to look, or what to look for. Well today, I struck gold. I went shopping with a friend of mine, and let’s just say that she is the queen of bargains. She found these pair of designer jeans for about half off the regular price. That’s quite a steal considering how much they usually are. I took advantage of her great find, and bought about three pairs of them. From now on, I’m taking her shopping with me whenever I go.

07/31 The Ultraound Technician in the Field

July 23, 2008: I have been at Whittier’s Point since 4 am this morning. I have been waiting to hear birdsong. I have learned that much more of it goes on in the frequency ranges that I cannot detect. I never knew this about birds. I am having difficulties with my recording equipment this week. The humidity seems to be playing tricks with it ! Life as an ultrasound technician is certainly presents with many more opportunities than I once perceived it having. Sonography is fascinating !

July 23, 2008: I am wrapping it up for the day or perhaps better put, the evening. Have been in the field for the past 18 hours. A very long day but a productive one. I am gathering evidence for what appears to be niche-specific vocalizations first recognized in urban areas, I think. It’s a very exciting time.

07/31 Gestational Diabetes Diet

Their are forms of diabetes that are temporary. I had always thought if you had diabetes you were scared for life as their is no cure for this ailment. Something called gestational diabetes occurs in women whom are pregnant at an alarming rate but it is not a permanent condition. Doctors now know about this and advise patients to get on a Gestational Diabetes Diet along with insulin shots that are given to stabilize the woman and the safety of the baby during pregnancy. The diet preserves the balance in the body as well and this form of diabetes fades away after the baby is born. I have a sneaking suspicion that the cure for diabetes is in this process and may be why it happens. I believe life throws us solutions in work clothes we just have to find them!

07/30 A man’s promise ring

I never previously paid much attention to male promise rings, but I suppose in today’s world with changing gender roles, anything is possible. Normally the way a promise ring would be given is from a male to a female, but that’s no longer the case. Many women are feeling they are strong enough to be able to carry on that role of asking their male significant other to wear a promise ring. I think it’s great and it’s all a result of years and years of women’s liberation. No longer are women content to just sit back and wait for things to happen. They are taking action upon themselves to go after what they want.

07/30 Where You Can Find a Free Reverse Cell Search

Using a reverse cell number search can cost money.  One way to avoid the cost it try try and find a free reverse cell search.  By using these searches, a person doesn’t have to fill out any personal information, or committ to any email lists.  It is a pure and simple trial search, which means you only have to enter one thing, the number.

A free search is great because of the fact it costs nothing to use.  But make sure to temper your expectations when using one. Using a free reverse cell search means that your search results will be limited. This means you will only recieve a partial report of what normally would be a full report with a full membership.

07/30 ISP bandwidth and video streaming

Video on the internet is starting to clog the web and slow it down and massive infrastructure changes are needed just to keep up with the big demand there is for video streaming. The problem is – Who Pays for the video streaming ? The privatised, disaggregated, and hierarchical nature of the internet makes it difficult to work this out, in the UK BT is the only Tier 2 provider, but there are then a multitude of tier 3 and 4 providers who also cross-sell connections upwards from their own networks. In the UK the overnight success of the BBC’s Iplayer has proved problematic for UK ISP’s who are finding their networks short of capacity and they are trying to get the BBC to pay for the infrastructure investment. The success of the BBC with their iplayer peer-to-peer system is going to damage the enduser, who will likely be capped on their usage and finish up paying for all that extra bandwidth - an indirect extension of the license fee.

07/30 Classy ways to ask people to be your bridesmaid!

In the grand scheme of things asking someone to be your bridesmaid is generally an honor but when you have no time to go to all the different cities your best friends live in you can do it in some classy ways. Last year when I was getting married I wanted people all over the place to attend my wedding and help me plan it so I sent flowers to all my friends with “will you be my bridesmaid cards” in them to ask them if they would honor me with their presence. They absolutely were thrilled to do it and I was happy I had such amazing friends!

07/30 Pilot Club

We have a favorite place to eat lunch at the local small airport restaurant. My children love to visit this restaurant because of the planes and the interesting people that come by from time to time. Just last year we met John Travolta and Harrison Ford. It seems there is an unspoken club between pilots. Although we do not own a plane or fly ourselves, we have picked up plenty of jargon and can hold our own in a conversation. When talking to Harrison Ford we got his take on small aircraft reviews and we were very impressed with his cessna and we understood the reasons he liked it so much.

07/30 Where can I find more information?

I am trying to learn more about two-way radios. I am wondering whether they might be useful to me in my work, and want to find out about what they can be used for and which ones are the best for which types of activities. I think that it would be easier for me if I could find some two-way radio reviews online that I could look at to see what people think of the different radios that are being sold now. Does anyone know where I might be able to find two-way radio reviews? It would really help me out.
