Chinese gong - pleasing to all types of people.
The sounds of the Chinese gong are among the most recognizable of all instruments in the world. Whether or not you understand the history of such an ancient musical instrument and its practices both spiritual and in music, or if you just heard it in one of your favorite rock albums, it is an undeniable fact that people of all ages and races find the sounds of the gong to be moving. Perhaps it is the very literal shockwave that is accompanied by striking the gong, or perhaps is just pleasing to the ear. Either way, it has retained its value in music, ancient or modern, and I feel it shall continue to do so for a long, long time.
