Number plate fonts.

Previously there has been number plate legislation governing the height and width of the characters used. This did not stop people having plates made up with italic letters or worse. To stamp the practice out new laws were passed defining both the stroke of the characters and also the font which is the Charles Wright font. This clears up any confusion. To enable the law to be enforced, suppliers must now be registered on the Register of Number Plate Suppliers and they must print their name and postcode on each plate that they supply. They also have to obtain proof of I.D. and entitlement at time of purchase.
