Accidents will happen!

The Isle of Man, famous for its TT biking events could suffer as a result of changes to the UK medical reciprocal arrangement that are due to take place some time after 2010. According to the article “Falling ill on the Isle of Man may cost you dearly” these changes could be the catalyst for the downfall of one of the world’s most significant events in the bikers’ calendar.

Is nobody concerned for the effects of this new ruling upon the tourism of the Isle of Man? Lots of people head over to the Isle of Man for the TT, will they be put off by the possibility of expensive medical treatment following an accident or if they were to fall ill? Will they be happy to take out travel insurance or will they just not bother to come to the Isle of Man? Am I guilty of looking at the negative outcomes because I can’t see anything positive can come of this?

They are saying they are not sure exactly when this new ruling will come into force but don’t expect it to happen before 2010. I suppose time will tell!
