Collecting the data
Web analytics can be rewarding and exciting when your results improve. Your web analytics consulting team will use one of two methods to collect the data. The first method is where the logfiles where your web server records all it’s transactions, is read. This is call the logfile analysis method. The second method uses preplaced java script on page to send information to a third party server each time a page is rendered by a web browser. All data is extracted using special software designed for the job. Whichever method is used, the collected data will be compiled to produce web traffic reports.
