Young pedestrian injured when hit by car at higher risk for future injuries
In a case involving clear liability on the park of a driver the insurance company offered only $15,000 in this case involving a pedestrian accident. The pedestrian was a 12 year old boy. He had been hit and knocked down by the vehicle and this had caused serious injuries to the cervical and lumbar portions of the boy’s spine. As a result of the injuries, the boy required over 220 visits to a chiropractor. At trial the testimony of an orthopedic surgeon demonstrated that as a result of the accident the boy was at higher risk and more susceptible to future spinal injuries. As a result of the trial testimony the law firm that handled this matter was able to achieve a verdict of $695,000 on the boy’s behalf.
