08/10 What Design Should My Tattoo Be?

I am considering getting a tattoo. I am not a young kid, though, so I am looking for suggestions on a good tattoo design. While some people think it is ok to cover your entire arm in an intricate tattoo design, that just isn’t me. I am wanting something that reflects my personality. I have seen tattoos with a cartoon character or other animal such as a tiger. Don’t want to go there. I need a design, maybe more tribal, which is simple and tasteful, without being too big or too colorful. I think I will keep looking around until just the right idea comes to my mind.

08/09 Are You a Fan of Batman Movies?

How many of these movies have you seen, going back to the first of the modern movies about the winged superhero? I’m not the world’s biggest batman fanatic; in fact, I prefer the campy old tv version of the superhero story that starred Adam West. But I’m glad there have been so many new takes on the batman figure. What a variety of actors have portrayed the hero - Val Kilmer, Michael Keaton, George Clooney and now Christian Bale. The villains in thebatman movies are a big part of their appeal. Who is your favorite? The Joker, The Riddler, The Penguin, maybe even Mr. Freeze is your favorite bad guy. Then there are the femme fatales, Poison Ivy and the Catwoman. I wonder where the story will go next?

08/04 Obama Has My Vote On At Least One Thing

I haven’t been a big fan of Barack Obama, although I really must commend him for showing respect to his fellow politicians and Presidential contenders by chastising Ludacris for recording and showcasing the “outrageously offensive ” song, “Politics As Usual”. In the song, Ludacris, one of rap music’s most well-known celebrities, targeted everyone from President Bush to Senator Hillary Clinton to Senator John McCain and even Jesse Jackson. Kudos to Obama for advocating playing fair and keeping it clean. Obama acknowledged that despite differences we may have on the political forefront, we all still share values that we want to instill in our children on the home front.

When most people think of a national monument, the picture things like the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC or perhaps the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery.  However, there are many other national monuments around the country.  One of the most spectacular is Jewel Cave National Monument in South Dakota.  Located in the Black Hills National Forest and covering almost 1,300 acres, this monument is home to the second longest cave in the world.

07/15 Picking out your tattoo

When picking out a tattoo, it’s very important to choose something that has some significant meaning to you. One good example if nothing else comes to mind is choosing zodiac tattoos. It’s something personal since it stands for the person you are, and often times it really reflects your true characteristics. I know that my own sign is usually spot on with my personality so having a zodiac sign would be something that I could always carry with me, and never feel like it was something I might regret. That’s always everyone’s fear when choosing tattoos, is having it be something they will regret. So don’t make that mistake. Choose something that has meaning to you.

07/12 Why Aren’t You Playing A Real Guitar?

Who has not ever pretended they had a guitar and pretended to play guitar along with some song or another? Not many people could truthfully deny it. There is something  about guitar music that makes us all want to play along with the band.

So what is stopping you? Guitars are pretty cheap to buy now and with a few instruction books and a bit of practice you could be playing a real guitar along with the music you love. Get off your backside and do something creative. Turn the TV off and play some music. You know, deep in your heart, you would love to do that - so do it.

07/09 Film school in Cebu

It is official, I have been accepted into film school located in Cebu, Philippines. It has state of the art equipment and facilities just perfect for people like me and other aspiring film makers. It’s globally competitive since alot of the students come from around the world. I’ve researched it alot online and it seems to be a great place to pursue my film education. You don’t have to go to Hollywood to pursue the entertainment industry. This is my first stop along the way to hopefully becoming the next successful playwright or director of our time. My schooling can’t come soon enough.

07/03 Features of the Dulcimer

The dulcimer comes in various sizes, identified by the number of strings that cross each of its bridges. A 15/14 for example, has two bridges (treble and bass) and spans three octaves (eight notes). The strings of a dulcimer are usually found in pairs, two strings for each note (though some instruments have three or four strings per note). Each set of strings is tuned in unison and is called a course. As with a piano, the purpose of using multiple strings per course is to make the instrument louder, although as the courses are rarely in perfect unison, a chorus effect usually results. A dulcimer-like a harp, requires a tuning wrench for tuning. Unlike the strings of a guitar, the dulcimer’s strings are wound around simple bolts (called tuning pins) with square heads.

06/29 Gorgeous Pictures

I recently got engaged and I have started what may very well be the biggest project in creating my fairytale wedding. I have dreamed of this moment all my life and I want it to be spectacular. I do not know what order I should start planning things but I have started researching photographers right away so I can make sure to book the one I want. I found some gorgeous pictures on a website of a coventry wedding photographer. I can not wait to meet with him in person and see if he can not capture exactly what it is I want on my day.

06/19 Why a jesus tattoo?

Jesus seems to be the most important of Christian symbols for tattoos.

Some of the most popular jesus tattoos depict him as he was on the cross or show his face surrounded by a glow while wearing the crown of thorns as explained at the crucification.

The history is likely traced back to the hippy movement when many people were fighting the institution of religions like Christianity. Some CChristianswanted to take back their imagery and share their love of their god and his son.

There is some very bbeautifulwork done with the images of Christ as represented in both the Catholic and common christian artwork.

05/26 Dancing lessons for a bad back

The doctor said my lower back was strained and the fact that I sit all day at my job is not helping. He told me to get out and do something like take dancing lessons. It would help me improve muscle tone and flexibility and that would strengthen my lower back muscles. I strained them because they are out of shape. He said he suggested dance because he thought it would be something fun for me to do and that I would probably stick with it if I liked it. He was right, I am having the time of my life!
