10/08 The French Cycling Gourmet by The Bicycle Gourmet

I’m not the only one who’s dreamt of becoming a French Cycling Gourmet. But,in all modesty,I may be the only one who’s done it five months a year for five years to produce a television series. And,as a result, now lives in the country of my dreams.I was,and am,a film-maker/photographer/author.(and composer/musician) I had a good life in the “Excited States.” Successful business. Regular clients. Good friends. Great scenery and climate. Fantastic art and culture. Incredible wine. Perfect! Except for one thing. Spontaniety. The possibility to let life pass through you, rather than just (comfortably) passing through life. And so,one day, heeding Tracy Chapman’s plaintive whine – “If not now……………………when?”, I put my clients in the hands of my colleagues, bought the best bike I could find, and a one way ticket to “La Belle France.”During that first season I chowed down at five star restaurants, where normally I could’nt afford a glass of(tap)water, stayed in chateaus that were old when Napoleonwas a boy,and sampled fresh everything gliding blissfullydown poplar lined country lanes. That, dear reader,is how to become a French cycling gourmet. What are you waiting for?

09/30 Stay at the Ford House B and B for the Perfect Vacation

My daughter loves to ride horses. She started riding when she was four and we have had to fight to keep her off of horses every since. When we decided to take a trip to Ireland she threw a fit that she was going to be away from her horse for two weeks. But, we had a great surprise for her. We stated at Ford House B and B which was right up the street from the Cavan Equestrian Centre so that she was able to ride horses every day. It was not exactly the same as riding her own horse but she loved it anyway.

09/25 Where Can I Book a Fiji Vacation

I have been looking to plan a tropical vacation for my honeymoon and I was told that fiji vacations are the best.  I want a location where the weather is beautiful, the beaches are spectacular and where we can spend our first days as husband and wife.  We both work so hard in our jobs so I want it to be a relaxing place.  After researching a bit online I really think that Fiji is the place we want to go.  I was hoping someone could help me find a way to get the best deals when booking my trip and if there are any recommendations where to stay.

09/24 Europe Needs Teachers

Are you a new teacher looking for a job?  If so, then consider going to Europe.  There are many schools in Europe that are looking for teachers.  When teaching in europe you can show your students what life is like in the United States, as well as teach what ever curriculum you are hired to teach.  Teaching is a very rewarding job.  As a teacher you will make a difference in the lives of the students you have in your classroom.  If you are having a difficult time finding a teaching job in the United States, then look for a job in Europe.

09/17 Service Training and Using Temporary Housing

I am in the military and and move from place to place quite a bit.  Recently I was shipped to Miami for some extra training and needed a place for my family to stay.  I have one three month old son and my wife who travel with me most of the time.  If we are going to be stationed in one place for a long time then there is not a problem we stay on the base.  This particular trip was only going to be for about a month and I told my sergeant that I would only need temporary corporate housing in miami for a short time.  He told me that was not a problem and he would have it arranged.

09/12 “Parihuela” for the Seafood Lover in You

You’re probably wondering more about Parihuela  (Seafood Soup) after reading the last post. This dish too uses tomatoes which Peru is famous for. Well I can tell you Parihuela is a very traditional Peruvian seafood dish. Parihuela is a thick soup consisting of most every type of seafood: shrimp, crayfish, mussels, squid, scallops, fish…if it’s edible seafood it has probably been served before in this soup. Sometimes cooks will put parihuela made with rays and skates (you should think stingray)! The true genius in the soup is the omission of water and oil when making the soup. Genuine Parihuela uses only the juices from the seafood itself to make its stock. The soup also includes onion, garlic, wine, tomatoes, oregano and hot pepper. Some folklore surrounding Parihuela is that it has special powers of rejuvenation. For this reason many Peruvians sometimes eat it after a long night out drinking!

08/30 Finding Car Rental Dublin Style

I have often found that when traveling it is imperative to do your research before you get there. Otherwise you are likely to find yourself in a very hard position that you will definitely regret.  That is why in preparing for my trip to Ireland I looked up Car Rental Dublin to make sure that there was something available directly from the airport when I arrive.  Lucky for me there was just the right services that I needed to get from the airport to my sister in laws house where I am staying.  It is going to be great because I prepared.

08/27 Airline companies going under

Will more airline companies go under? The new air line papers will meet my expectations in all three areas. The older papers will meet my expectations in two areas. The new papers will meet my expectations in one area. Papers that fail to meet my expectations in any area, or that are late or incomplete, will receive a private jet charter. Except as noted in the next section of this handout, everyone in your group will receive the same grade on the paper. How will these large air line companies survive the slowed economy and the job losses that we are all facing?
