High failure rate reported in important procedure

Recently, DePuy Orthopedics has recalled its ASR Hip Resurfacing System and ASR XL Acetabular System due to its high failure rates. The hips were origionally designed to last for about 15 years but have been reported to fail in about 12 to 13 pecent in the first few years. The ASR Hip Resurfacing System and ASR XL Acetabular System have been reported to pop out of the socket, cause fractures to the bone around the site where they are implanted and even cause metallosis. Metallosis occures when there is excess metal in the bloodstream. This can lead to pain, swelling, inflammation, nerve damage, and even cancer. This DePuy Recall has effected tens of thousands of people world wide. If you or someone you know has had a hip replacement from 2003-2010, click the link to learn more information regarding this.
