Colorectal cancer can be prevented
I have a family history of breast cancer and colorectal cancer. I have regular mamograms and do monthly self breast exams and will have to have a colonoscopy next year to check for any signs of colon cancer. My older siblings have all had the test and three of them had some pre-cancerous growths that were removed during the procedure. Colon cancer is totally preventable as long as you have the proper tests to check for it. If you are like me and have a family history then you should be checked by the age of 45. You can wait till 50 if you have no signs or symptoms or family history.
