Help with Genealogy Searches with the SS Death Index
My sister is a genealogy freak. She has records of our family dating back to the 1700’s in England. Lucky for us our family kept many, many paper records which were handed down from generation to generation. My sister also has used many online genealogy search sites to find information on our descendants. Many of the big genealogy sites link to the Social Security Death Index database. It’s a vast wealth of information because once you have the deceased social security number you can send for a copy of their application for the social security card which contains information such as birth place, father’s name, mother’s maiden name, etc.
