Fine Cutlery is a Prized Possession
Ask any professional chef what they consider to be their most important tools. Most chefs will answer that their knives are tools they could not function without. A chef might think of their collection of knives the same way an artist thinks of their brushes. Just as the artist creates a masterpiece with his brushes, a chef creates his masterpieces using his knives. To a chef using fine cutlery is not a luxury but an absolute necessity. Many people who enjoy cooking feel the same way. It is very frustrating to try to prepare a meal and only have inferior knives at your disposal. The investment in fine cutlery is one that nobody regrets. I have never known anybody that owns fine cutlery pick up a knife and say, “I wish I had never bought this knife”. That is something that nobody ever says about fine cutlery.
