Finding a book about Bulgaria
Books about anything even slightly specialised, are very difficult to find. Finding a book about bulgaria is incredibly difficult. That is to say, yes, there are books written about Bulgaria, but you have probably already found that once you have read one, you have read them all!
Not exact copies, but much of a muchness as some people might say.
What I wanted was a book that gave me the basics, a basic history of Bulgaria, Basic geography of Bulgaria, Bulgarian food and Bulgarian culture. Yes of course I wanted that, but I really wanted something I could pick up and put down, something written by an English person that has lived in Bulgaria for many years. I wanted photos of day to day life in Bulgaria, what to do I had a problem, what if my water main burst, how to register with a doctor, you know, normal things, things to make life easier.
Well now, Paul Watchorn (widely accepted as the Bulgarian expert, and authority on the subject) is researching a book all about Bulgaria. All the of the above and more.
