My job in Diamonds
The other day, my boss had me sort through about 300 carats of one tenth of a carat diamonds. That’s about three thousand total individual diamonds! These sized diamonds will mostly go into engagement rings as side diamonds. I had to sort them by color, clarity, and sieve size. The parcel was mostly color diamonds, so I only had to sort them between D Color Diamonds, E color diamonds, and F Color Diamond. Then I had to sort those three piles into three different clarity piles. Those were clean (VVS+), VS, and SI. Then I had to take out my handy sieve plates and sieve the whole thing by mm.
