Femtocells reinforce 3G signals in homes
Femtocells will improve mobile voice and data signals indoors, and will soon be ready for domestic use.
This is good news for mobile broadband uptake, which works accross 3G singlals in the ame way as mobile telephones. The 3G platform is already designed to give effective coverage, but it is much better outdoors where there arev less obstacles like brick walls which inhibit it. Femtocells will solve this by acting as a tiny portable radio mast inside your home / office to boost the signal.
These developments mean that soon consumers will be able to access the internet via a portable modam or mobile phone and get a stronger connection.
