Transmission Poles in the Power Industry

Transmission Poles may be made out of timber, steel, concrete and other engineered materials. Their purpose is to stretch wires between them to transmit electricity and telecommunications over a long distance. These poles have other accessories like transmitters and insulators loaded onto them so conduct the transmission as efficiently as possible. Transmission poles made of wood are safe, especially when transmitting electricity as wood is a bad conductor of electricity due to which the pedestrians and other structures are at a safe distance from the live uninsulated wires. The wires are generally left uninsulated because high up in there, the air acts as a dielectric insulator, eliminating the need for an insulating coat.
