Carnival in Albufeira
Along with the rest of The Algarve, and the country of Portugal, Albufeira celebrated the 2009 carnival with a flourish. There were parades, parties, childrens events and a good time was had by all. The weather conditions had been cool and windy, but eased off during the celebrations. The foreign tourists came out of their Albufeira hotels to join in the celebrations. Due to the unseasonal weather, many had been restricted to their hotels, and the Old Town of Albufeira, as the seas were strong, making boating and swimming impossible. Sun bathing on the beach was not really an option, but summer will soon be here.
